Venkaiah Naidu slams Chidambaram over comments on Kashmir

Hyderabad: Union minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday lashed out at Congress over former Home Minister P Chidambaram’s remarks on the Kashmir unrest and said that his remarks are irresponsible and anti-national.

The Telangana BJP organized a victory celebration on account of party’s win in Maharashtra local body elections. Naidu, addressing the party workers at State BJP office here said that Chidambaram’s comment on Kashmir is totally irrelevant.

Responding to Chidambaram’s comments over the unrest in Kashmir valley due to BJP’s inefficiency, Naidu said that the former was not aware of the latest developments in Kashmir.

Naidu said, on Friday, Muslims greeted local pandits (Kashmir’s) on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri and brotherhood does exist in the valley. He said it is the congress party that is creating confusion among the Kashmir people by raising false statements.

Naidu also asked the Congress to clarify whether Chidambaram’s statement is party’s official stand, as he always behaves in a casual and reckless manner when discussing Kashmir.
