Telangana lovers in Gulf gearing up for Bathukamma

Riyadh: Various organizations and individual groups in Gulf countries have been gearing up to organsie Bathukamma, the floral festival in grand scale within permissible limits.

Separate Telangana agitation helped the spread of the cultural revival among Telangana NRIs in Arabian Gulf too and it’s become now calendar event.

Telangana families in Gulf region are more enthusiastic given their time and space constraints in addition to local norms upon gatherings. Various organisations in Gulf are competing with each other to celebrate the event.

Nizamabad MP and Telangana Jagruti President, K Kavtia, who had attended Batukamma events in Gulf for last two years, has decided to skip this year, according to sources.

UAE is foremost among Gulf region in conducting Batukamma and other events of Telangana as numbers have been swelling, however this year there will be no large scale event of Batukamma in Dubai for some local reasons. A symbolic and formal function will be held by Gulf Telangana Welfare and Cultural Association (GTWCA) at auditorium of Indian Consulate in Dubai to celebrate the festival on Saturday. Consul General Vipul and other senior diplomats are scheduled to attend the event, according to organizers.

Telangana Jagruti – UAE, other Dubai based organization, scheduled to conduct event on Friday in Umm Al Quwain, one of the seven emirates that comprising UAE, 70 KM away from Dubai in which former Peddapalli MP, G Vivek and athelte Naina Jaiswal  to attend as guests.

Telangana Association in Abu Dhabi have made all arrangements to organize Batukamma event in Indian Social Center in the city, where some hundreds of Telangana women would expect to attend the event, according to Raja Srinivas Rao of TA Abu Dhabi. Sharanya Pradeep, who acted in FIDA, box office hit Telangana movie that shot in Nizamabad, would be attending the event as guest.

In Oman, Indian Social Club’s Telangana Wing gearing up to welcome some thousands of people in Wadi Kabir ground in Muscat on September 29, according to President Ganesh.

Chiru Youth Mega Force (CYMF) ,an active Telugu NRI organization of cine star Chiranjeevi, also announce to held Batukamma and Dasara celebrations next week, September 28 in a star hotel.

The most popular TV news anchor of Telangana dialect Bittiri Satti and Telangana singer Madhu Priya would fly to Muscat to attend the event, said Ramdas Chandaka, President of CYMF.

In Bahrain, organizers planning to conduct the event on last week of September and in Kuwait Telangana organizations planned the event in next month together with Dasara.
