As the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon came to an end, thousands took to Facebook to share their pictures and stories from the major event. The marathon is an annual event held on the third Sunday of January every year. It is among the most major marathons of the country, with cash prizes running into millions of rupees.

The young politician and sibling of actor Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt shared photos of participation by NGO Nargis Dutt Foundation, a charitable trust founded in memory of Sanjay and Priya’s parents Sunil and Nargis Dutt.

Several celebs and public figures were seen at the event, and hundreds of the participants shared stories of how they completed their runs.

“It took me long 6 hours (sic) to finish the whole distance. But the feeling of crossing the finish line marked at 42km and 195 meters made the effort look justified. Marathon is mostly about endurance. There are moments you want to stop but your mind tells you to keep going. And when you do push yourself through the pain, it feel great (sic) to get that medal which is a small way to signal the glory of the finish line,” wrote techie Anil Khale as an FB post. Anil completed the full 42 km run, as did thousands of people.
