Stadler Rail Management AG, one of the pioneer companies in locomotive engine manufacturing, expressed willingness to establish its manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, during Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Zurich visit.
The Chief Minister’s Office informed that the Stadler company expressed willingness to start their unit at Visakhapatnam in AP. This company has already established its first manufacturing unit in West Bengal and the second would be in Visakhapatnam, if all goes well as expected.
Naidu invited them to establish their second unit in AP to manufacture high speed metro and intercity locomotive engines in the State. Responding positively to his appeal, the company management explained that they have been studying the possibilities to expand their business into AP, based on the resources and are also looking at the legal framework.
Naidu stayed there in Zurich for one day, on Monday, before he would move to Davos to participate in a pre-scheduled meeting.
On the request of the company, he visited their manufacturing unit located there in Zurich.
Peter Jenelten, Executive Vice President of the company, explained that they could provide the locomotive engines to meet the demands of the growing population in AP in general and India in particular. He explained that their business has expanded in 12 countries. He said that they have preparing plans to expand their business in the US and India.
