Single window of arms licence for sports shooters soon: DGP

DGP Anurag Sharma has given assurance to Telangana State Shooting Association that the Delhi model of single window of arms license related work for sports shooters will be initiated in city soon.

Hyderabad: DGP Anurag Sharma has given assurance to Telangana State Shooting Association that the Delhi model of Single window of arms licence related work for sports shooters will be initiated in city soon. Speaking at concluding day function of the IV Telangana State Shooting Competitions held at Shooting Ranges, SATS, Gachibowli, on Wednesday, Sharma said he was very happy to see so many young shooters competing at high level which he thought will make them Champions in the near future.

Sports Authortity of Telangana State managing director A Dinakar Babu promised to upgrade the ranges at Gachibowli so that it will attract National & International competition. ”We have to motivate young shooters to take up this sport.’’ He also assured the association of setting up an office at the shooting range. “An estimated cost of Rs 10 crores would be needed to upgrade the ranges and make the Hyderabad Range one of the best in the country,’’ he said.
