RTC bus on hitting spree kills woman, injures five in Hyderabad

In order to escape hitting a two-wheeler, the driver rammed the bus into three other vehicles, including a tractor, on the other side of the road.

Hyderabad: The driver of an RTC bus lost control over his vehicle and went on a hitting spree, killing one woman and leaving five others injured at Shadnagar here on Thursday. 

According to Shadnagar police, the accident happened around noon on the Kesampeta bypass road. The bus first hit the two-wheeler on which N Swathi (40), a resident of Vityala Village, was travelling, killing her on the spot. The others who were injured were identified as Pandu (21), Bamini (45), Ramesh (25), Shankaraiah (30) and Veeresham (25). 

“In order to escape hitting a two-wheeler, the driver rammed the bus into three other vehicles, including a tractor, on the other side of the road,” police said, adding that the injured were shifted to Osmania General Hospital and were under treatment. 

The driver was identified as T Vijay Kumar with the bus (AP 21 Z 0671) belonging to the RTC’s Pattikonda depot. Shadnagar police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
