Warangal Urban: Warangal police commissioner’s Task-force police have seized banned gutka packets worth Rs 5 lac and a car worth about Rs 11 lac on Friday.

Police commissioner G Sudheer Babu said  that they had seized the gutka during vehicle check up at Kashibugga locality in Warangal and a trader,  A. Satyam, of Tailor Street in Hanamkonda, who was allegedly involved in the illegal procurement and supply gutka products, was taken into custody.

According to the police, the accused, who is running a kirana shop,  was supplying the banned gutka. It is said that he had  purchased the banned gutka  at Beguam Bazar in Hyderabad.

On receiving specific information, the task force personnel have intercepted the trader’s car and found 22 bags of gutka products of different companies in the car.

During interrogation the accused confessed to his crime following which a case was booked against him at Intezarganj police station.

CP Sudheer Babu appealed the people to inform the department, if they find anyone involved in illegal businesses. He said that the information to police can be passed on WhatsApp number: 9491089257.

“We will keep the details of the informants confidential,” he said.

He has also appreciated the Task-force inspectors, L. Ramesh Kumar and Mahender Reddy and other staff for seizing the banned product.
