Rajanna-Sircilla: A newly married couple was brutally murdered by the three uncles of the girl who attacked the duo and killed them at the residence of the boy in Balarajpalli of Vemulawada mandal on Thursday evening.

According to sources, Neduri Harish (21) and Rachana (20), who were in love for two years, got married two months ago and were staying at Harish’s home in Balrajpalli. Enraged over the marriage, Rachana’s uncles, Neduri Ashok, Shekar and Nagaraju, attacked Harish’s house in the evening between 4 pm and 5 pm and killed them by slitting their throats with knives.

Rachana was brought up at her uncles’ residence in Balarajpalli village as her parents had died when she was a child. Belonging to a Scheduled Tribe community, Rachana and Harish fell in love two years ago. After coming to know of their affair, the girl’s uncles warned Harish sometime ago.

Two months ago, they got married in a temple as the uncles of Rachana refused to accept their marriage proposal. Unable to digest the ‘humiliation’, Ashok, Shekar and Nagaraju eliminated the couple. Vemulawada Rural CI Madhavi visited the spot and enquired about the incident. Police registered a case and are investigating the incident.
