Hyderabad: Union minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday lashed out at the Congress over former home minister P Chidambaram’s remarks on the Kashmir unrest and said that his remarks showed irresponsible and anti-national behaviour.

The BJP Telangana chapter on Saturday organised victory celebration of local body elections of Maharashtra State. Naidu addressing the party workers at State BJP office here said Mr Chidambaram’s comment on Kashmir was totally irrelevant.

Naidu quoted that Chidambaram was not aware of the latest developments in the region and said that Kashmir was alienated and unrest prevailed in the valley due to inefficiency of BJP. Responding to Chidambaram’s comment Naidu said on Friday that Muslims greeted local Kashmiri Pandits on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and brotherhood existed in the valley, he said it was the Congress party creating confusion among the Kashmiri people by giving false statements.

He asked the Congress party to clarify that whether the Chidambaram statement was the official statement of the Congress party as he always shows the casual and reckless manner of the Congress when discussing Kashmir.
