Hyderabad: Mystery continues to shroud over the underground construction that was discovered at a residential area in Moula Ali last week.
The structure was uncovered after a huge sinkhole was formed on the boundaries of a residential compound. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials who first inspected the sinkhole confirmed that there was a granite construction inside and alerted the officials of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
“We wrote to the ASI and also tried to get in touch with them several times on phone. We want them to visit the place and see if it is a historic construction, but there has been no response from them yet,” P Anil Raj, Executive Engineer, GHMC, said.
As the sinkhole looked quite deep, the GHMC officials have temporarily closed the opening to avoid accidents in the night and are still awaiting response from the ASI.
