Latif Saheb Dargah Urs begins with fan fare

Amid rituals, the three-day Urs of Latif Saheb Quadri Dargah began on Thursday evening with taking out of 'gandham' (sandal sharif) procession from Madeena masjid.

Nalgonda: Amid rituals, the three-day Urs of Latif Saheb Quadri Dargah began on Thursday evening with taking out of ‘gandham’ (sandal sharif) procession from Madeena masjid to Dargha in Nalgonda.

The CLP deputy leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, district Collector Gaurav Uppal, and  Superintendent of Police N Prakash Reddy participated in the gandham procession, which symbolised beginning of the Urs. The sandal sharif procession passed through clock tower, RP road, Kaman, old city, and reached the Dargha.

Several fakirs participated in the procession and played traditional drums, people were attracted to the music played by the fakirs as well as to their needle piercing display, the fakirs piereced different body parts including feet, tongue, neck, and chest.

Over 100 stalls came up near the hillock, on which Dargha is located.
