Telangana Government will do justice to oustees of irrigation projects: Harish Rao

Harish Rao urged the Congress leaders not to deteriorate the interests of the farmers by trying to create hurdles to Farmers’ Coordination Committees.

Nalgonda: The Minister for Irrigation and Marketing T Harish Rao on Thursday made it clear that the State Government was committed to extend best Relief and rehabilitation package to the farmers, whose lands were acquired for irrigation projects.

Speaking after inaugurating the NABARD Godown at Munogode in the district, Harish Rao reminded that the earlier Congress government failed to complete a single irrigation project, which have been taken up under Jala Yagnam. After coming to power in the newly formed Telangana state, TRS government resumed the works of pending projects in addition to taking up new projects. The State government was keen on doing justice to the farmers, who sacrificed their lands for irrigation projects, he reiterated.

Coming down heavily on the opposition parties for making politics on irrigation projects, Harish Rao pointed out that the members of opposition parties in the mask of farmers erected tents at Shivannagudem project and staged dharnas with an intention to create hurdles to the project. He pointed out that the Congress leaders were approaching the Courts on Dindi Lift Irrigation scheme to create hurdles for execution of its works.

Stating that Krishna water was only the solution to irrigation and drinking water problem in Munugode Assembly Constituency, the Minister said that Dindi Lift Irrigation Project was aimed at bringing Krishna water to the Constituency. The project would also help in solving fluoride issue in the district he added.
