Hyderabad resident killed in road accident in Tucson

According to the Tucson police and several media reports, Anthony Hall, had two passengers that included Mihir Dixit in the car and was speeding on Saturday night.

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old student of University of Arizona, Mihir Dixit, died in a road accident in Tucson of Arizona State on Saturday last, according to reports reaching here. Dixit is the son of a senior officer of the Central Government unit working in Hyderabad. Dixit’s body has been flown to Delhi on Saturday, reports said.

The youngster was travelling in the rear seat of a car while another woman was the front passenger with the driver when the crash occurred, local media reported quoting the Tucson police.

The driver of the car, Anthony Hall (18) was arrested by the police, who now suspect that speed and alcohol appear to be the factors in the car crash.

Hall passed a vehicle while changing lanes and lost control of vehicle. The driver hit a metal utility pole and under the impact, Mihir Dixit, who was travelling in the back seat, was killed at the spot while the woman co-passenger in the front seat and the Anthony Hall were injured and shifted to a local hospital.

The Tucson police have arrested the driver, after he was discharged from the hospital, and have charged him with murder. The investigation is on-going; the Tucson police have told the local media.
